At dentalhouse, our dentists perform oral surgery procedures to treat dental issues and improve your oral health.
Surgical Options to Help Your Smile
From dental implants to gum grafts, our dentists can perform a number of oral surgeries to restore your smile - and help you feel comfortable while your procedure is completed.
Oral surgery encompasses the diagnosis and surgical treatment of injuries, defects and diseases of the hard and soft tissues of the face, mouth, jaws and teeth.
Problems in this area can stem from illness, trauma, infection, poor oral hygiene or a combination of these factors.
While we always opt for the least invasive treatment possible for any given dental issue, in some cases less invasive treatment options are simply not sufficient, and oral surgery is needed. You'll find a range of oral surgery services at dentalhouse's five locations.
Dental implants are small titanium screws which function similar to natural tooth roots. As part of the process to replace missing teeth and restore your smile, dental implants will be placed.
When combined with a tooth replacement such as a bridge or crown, a dental implant looks and feels much like a natural tooth. Dental implants are available at each of our five locations.
During a gum graft, gum tissue is taken from the roof of your mouth and transplanted to another area of the gums.
With a gum graft, exposed roots can be covered, receding gums repaired and associated symptoms such as severe tooth sensitivity and eventual tooth loss can be reduced. This service is available at our Oakville and Woodbridge locations.
While we always prefer to save a natural tooth, in some instances this may prove impossible. A tooth may need to be removed by your dentist if it's too badly damaged as a result of gum disease, injury or decay.
During this procedure, the tooth is removed from its socket in the bone. Your dentist will discuss tooth replacement options with you, which may include dental crowns, bridges and dentures.
Tooth extractions are available at each of our five locations.
Wisdom Tooth Removal
Wisdom teeth are a third set of molars that develop for some patients between the age of 17 and 25. These teeth may crowd the mouth and create oral health issues.
If your wisdom teeth cause problems for your oral hygiene, your dentist may recommend removing them to help preserve your oral health.
A bone graft has your dentist adding bone tissue to your jaw to help strengthen it enough to support a dental implant. During this procedure, special bone grafting material or bone from another part of your body is surgically placed on your jaw bone.
A sinus lift is a bone grafting procedure in which bone material is added to the upper back jaw in preparation for a dental implant.
The amount of bone in your sinus area will be increased with this procedure, allowing room for an implant.
During a frenectomy procedure, the dentist eliminates a frenum, a small piece of tissue connecting your lips, tongue or cheeks to your gum area. Our dentists at each of our five locations perform frenectomies for babies, children and adults when the frenum restricts function. This condition is commonly referred to as lip-tied, tongue-tied or cheek-tied.
