Dental sedation is offered at each of our dentalhouse locations. Giving options to help make you more comfortable during long procedures.
Helping Anxious Patients
Feeling nervous or anxious about visiting the dentist? Dental sedation options may help to make your procedures more comfortable, and calm your nerves.
With dental sedation, we have a variety of techniques to help patients feel more comfortable during dental procedures. Our dentists can help determine whether dental sedation is right for you.
At dentalhouse, we do everything in our power to help patients feel relaxed and comfortable during their time with us. Along with offering a range of dental sedation options across our five locations, we are committed to working at your place, taking breaks when you need them and providing calm reassurance.
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
Nitrous oxide allows patients to remain awake and able to communicate. This medication is inhaled through the nose and mouth. While it tends to lessen anxiety, it also increases pain threshold, reduces gag reflex and makes time pass more quickly. Nitrous oxide is available at each of our five locations.
Your dentist can prescribe oral sedatives in liquid or pill form. This medication is taken orally before a dental appointment. You will be awake for the procedure, but oral sedatives have a significant calming effect. Oral sedation is available at each of our five locations.
IV sedatives provide the deepest level of sedation without general anesthesia. Our dental team will attach you to a monitor and the sedatives will be administered directly into the bloodstream through the vein. Your vital signs will be tracked during the procedure. IV sedation is available at our Kingston and Belleville locations.
Sedation for Children
Just like adults, children can experience anxiety or have special needs when it comes to dental procedures. Children require special consideration when it comes to sedation, and the dentists at our Belleville location are prepared to discuss your child's requirements and accommodate their needs and unique circumstances.
